In one article report seeing a 50 percent increase in self-catering holidays in the UK.  Figures seem to be backed up by the findings of County Homesearch who report that holiday cottage rentals have increased by 30 per cent in January compared to 12 months ago.

In the second report, according to Rightmove, since the recent BBC adaptation of ‘Poldark’ has been on air there has been a doubling in inquiries from potential property buyers looking for a bucolic Cornish home.

In this article estate agents said that the series has caused a glut of property buyers, with Brian Deacon from Linden Homes saying: ‘Reservations, viewings and sales have certainly increased since the TV series highlighted the beautiful wild scenery in this part of the West Country.

‘It’s not really surprising that it is having such a positive impact on sales – this … is such a stunning part of the world.’
