Landlords sometimes fall out with their tenants but few would go as far as the Yorkshire landlord who was in the news recently for attempting to barricade the let property with skips and farm equipment. He was so exasperated when he discovered that his tenants were leaving that he constructed a blockade to prevent them removing their possessions. The tenants enlisted the help of friends to carry their property, including a piano to waiting removal vans.
The landlord claimed that a long lease had been signed last year and the tenants were in breach by leaving early. This was disputed by the tenants and so the scene was set for a legal battle that turned into a war of attrition.
