Clients will be interested to see letting agent Martin and Co reporting something of a boom in the buy-to-let sector in the first three months of 2011 with mortgage lending to landlords on the rise. According to figures from Paragon Mortgages almost half of intermediaries reported an increase in buy-to-let business during the quarter.
It has been widely reported that the number of mortgages for buy-to-let properties in the UK has increased in the last year. In the first quarter of 2011 the experts reckon that there were nearly 300 products for landlords on the market compared to something like half that figure in the same period of 2011.
There seems to be increased demand for finance from landlords and potential landlords. How do you feel about the market in your area? Is it a good time to start a portfolio or increase an existing one?
