Property owners with empty property are often planning to let out their houses once they have been renovated. They will be cheered by a report predicting that the country may be a nation of renters in one generation.

The research was commissioned by Halifax and surveyed 8,000 people in the 20 to 45 age bracket. Nearly half of them said that Britain is becoming more like Europe where renting is seen as the norm. What is perhaps more significant is that 64% believed they had no prospect whatsoever of buying a home and only 5% said they were making sacrifices to save for a deposit.

This suggests that there should be a steady demand for rented accommodation and may encourage people to renovate empty houses to let them out. If you need a competitive quotation for unoccupied insurance visit
