06-07 end of season heybride report
Heybridge Swifts Reserve Football Team (for whom Click4quote.com are main sponsor) finished off the season with a treble of trophies with a 3-1 win at Witham Town in the Tolleshunt D'Arcy Memorial Cup Final. This added to trophies gained as Champions of the Essex & Hertfordshire league (for the first time in over 25 years) and Winners of the Brian Hitchings Memorial Cup.A convincing 3-1 win over Witham Town Reserves (who fielded a near first team line up!), saw the Captain Matt Cutchey lift his third trophy in as many weeks, wrapping up an impressive season for the young reserve side, scoring well in excess of 100 goals during the campaign.
Wayne Bond, the reserve team manager said
“It been a great season for the reserves. Winning the trophies is the icing on the cake. More than six of my team have regularly travelled with, or played for, the first team this season which is what the reserves is all about – training and nurturing the future talent for the senior team.
