Macmillan Nurses and Colchester Hospice Charity Walk
On the Sunday 30th April 2006 General Manager Ashley Bond took part in an undulating cross-country 26 mile charity walk for Macmillan Nurses and Colchester Hospice.
The 'unique' trail across the Wiltshire countryside links two UK World Heritage sites - the ancient stone circles of Avebury and the world famous Stonehenge.
Starting the walk at 6:30am, the trail took 8 hours of continuous walking - with the bank holiday weather producing a generously overcast day!
Raising over £250 for the above mentioned charities Ashley said:
“Raising the money for such worthwhile charities personally means a lot to me and I thank everybody who kindly donated money.”
“I did not appreciate how tough walking 26 miles non-stop would be and I am very pleased to have completed the trail. I have big blisters on my feet and my muscles seemed to seize up at the end, so I didn’t even manage to walk around Stonehenge when I finally arrived there – however all the pain was worth it for the money I have raised!”
Well done Ashley, from everyone at CLICK4QUOTE.COM
