The Financial Services Authority (FSA) is an independent non-governmental body, given statutory powers by the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000. They are a company limited by guarantee and financed by the financial services industry, with the Treasury appointing the FSA Board.
The FSA regulates most financial services markets, exchanges and firms. It sets the standards that they must meet and can take action against firms if they fail to meet the required standards.
As from the 14th January 2005 the FSA has taken over the regualion of Insurance Activities and from this date an insurance firm must be Authorised and Regulated by the FSA to trade legally.
Our permitted business is arranging with a view to tansactions, arranging (bringing about), advising on, dealing as an agent in and assisting in the administration and performance of non-investment insurance contracts.

The FSA's aim is to promote efficient, orderly and fair financial markets and help retail financial service consumers get a fair deal.
The FSA Register is a public record of financial services firms, individuals and other bodies which fall or have come under our regulatory jurisdiction as defined in the Financial Services & Markets Act 2000 (FSMA).
They provide the FSA Register online to enable firms and consumers to conduct ad hoc searches for authorised and previously authorised firms and individuals. It is not designed for sustained use by individual parties over an extended period of time.
