The Insurance Act 2015 has been introduced in order to reform some conflicting parts of the current Marine Insurance Act as well as introduce new legislation.  The Act deals with misrepresentation and non-disclosure and also warranties and remedies for fraudulent claims.   It also covers the responsibilities of the insurer, the broker and also the insured when placing, amending and renewing an insurance risk after the 12th August 2016. Commercial and consumer clients are both affected by these changes although the main emphasis is on commercial clients.  More information is available on our Aston Scott website here
